 | Movie: Burn After Reading Rating:   Goal: 03/50 (6% Complete) Genre: Comedy; Dark/Black Humor, Cult About: In this dark comedy from Joel and Ethan Coen, ousted CIA official Osbourne Cox (John Malkovich) loses his recently penned memoir into the hands of a pair of moronic gym employees (Brad Pitt and Frances McDormand, in a Golden Globe-nominated role) who use it to try to turn a profit. George Clooney and Tilda Swinton round out the cast of this irreverent farce, which was nominated for a Best Picture (Comedy) Golden Globe. Quote: "Osbourne Cox? I thought you might be worried...about the security...of your shit." -Chad My Thoughts: Eh, not my cup of tea. I rewound it no less than 100 times to watch Brad Pitt's dance though which made the movie worth it. Frances McDormand was so freaking annoying in this movie. Honestly, I was hoping for something of Ocean's 11 quality considering both Pitt and Clooney were in this movie. |

When European vampires immigrated to North America, they found Mercy's people had a hidden talent - for vampire slaying. Unfortunately for Mercy, the queen of the local vampire seethe has discovered her true identity. She's also furious when she learns Mercy has crossed her and killed one of her vampires. Mercy may be protected from direct reprisals by the werewolf pack (and her interesting relationship with its Alpha), but that just means Marsilia will come after Mercy some other way. So Mercy had better prepare to watch her back. My Thoughts: Love it, my favorite series (excluding HP). I just can't say enough good things about Briggs and her Mercy Thompson series. Now, her father, Bryan (Liam Neeson), a former soldier, must pull out all the stops to save her. But with his best years possibly behind him, Bryan's task may be more than he can handle. Directed by Pierre Morel, this relentless action thriller also stars Famke Janssen. Quote: "I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you." -Bryan My Thoughts: Really intense but good. The subject matter is definitely not for the weak hearted. I went to see this having no idea it was about sex trafficking, which was a surprise considering the previews showed none of that. |

But when he must face the evil Iron Monger, his skills are stretched to the limit. Based on the Marvel comic, this captivating superhero tale from director Jon Favreau co-stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges and Terrence Howard. Quote: "You've been called the Da Vinci of our time.
