With a healthy disregard for the law, and an unhealthy dependence on marshmallow hot chocolate, Stephanie's a match for anyone - even Morelli. My Thoughts: Just as wonderful as the first book. The grandmother is to die for.

My Thoughts: Didn't I say it was nothing special yesterday? Well guess what, I got tricked into paying to see it again less than 24 hours later. Still cute, still blah, totally not as cool when not played in IMAX.

Genre: Mystery
About: Stephanie Plum, the brassy babe in the powder-blue Buick, has been given the unpopular task of finding Mo Bedemier, Trenton's most beloved citizen, arrested for carrying concealed and a no-show for his court appearance.
She's got big, blonde, black Lula, a former hooker turned file clerk -- now a wannabe bounty hunter -- at her side, sticking like glue. And Lula's itching to get the chance to lock up a crook in the trunk of her car.
Joe Morelli, the New Jersey vice cop with the slow-burning smile that undermines a girl's strongest resolve, is suddenly being polite. What gives? Might he be manipulating Steph, using her in his investigation, counting on her curiosity and competitive Jersey attitude?
Once again, the whole crew is in action, including Ranger and Grandma Mazur, searching for Mo, tripping down a trail of dead drug dealers, leading Stephanie to suspect Mo has traded his ice-cream scoop for a vigilante gun.
Cursed with a disastrous new hair color and an increasing sense that it's time to get a new job, Stephanie tumbles through Three to Get Deadly with all the high-speed hijinks her fans have come to love.
My Thoughts: Another winner! I'm glad Lula is given an even bigger role. I'm amazed at how often I'm actually laughing out loud while reading this series.

Title: Four to Score
Author: Janet Evanovich
Rating:
Goal: 22/60 (36 2/3% Complete)
Pages: 313
Genre: Mystery
About: Stephanie Plum, Trenton, New Jersey's favorite pistol-packing, condom-carrying bounty hunter, is back--and on the trail of a revenge-seeking waitress who's skipped bail. With then help of 73-year-old Grandma Mazur, ex-hooker Lula, a transvestite musician named Sally Sweet, and the all-too-hospitable, all-too-sexy Joe Morelli, Stephanie might just catch her woman. Then again, with more mishaps than there are exits on the Jersey Turnpike--including murders, firebombs, and Stephanie's arch-rival bounty hunter chasing after the same fugative--Stephanie better watch her back big-time if she wants to live to crack this case.
My Thoughts: Sally Sweet is hilarious. (S)he really made this book stand out. I felt like there was a lot more going on in this book than in previous books. There was a secondary plot as well as a few new main voices. Evanovich did a great managing all of this.

Quote: "Do you want to play a game? It's called See Who Can Go the Longest Without Saying Anything." -Carl Fredricksen "Cool! My mom loves that game!" -Russell
My Thoughts: Best Pixar movie yet. It amazes me how powerful they're able to make the animation, I practically cried twice. The movie is also unbelievably funny. Don't even get me started on how awesome all the balloons look. I could watch the movie again to just see all of the balloons. I was bummed that there was no short before the movie though.

Title: Anansi Boys

Rating:
Goal: 17/60 (28 1/3% Complete)
Pages: 334
Genre: Urban Fantasy
About: God is dead. Meet the kids.
When Fat Charlie's dad named something, it stuck. Like calling Fat Charlie "Fat Charlie." Even now, twenty years later, Charlie Nancy can't shake that name, one of the many embarrassing "gifts his father bestowed - before he dropped dead on a karaoke stage and ruined Fat Charlie's life.
Mr. Nancy left Fat Charlie things. Things like the tall good-looking stranger who appears on Charlie's doorstep, who appears to be the brother he never knew. A brother as different from Charlie as night is to day, a brother who's going to show Charlie how to lighten up and have a little fun...just like Dear Old Dad. And all of a sudden, life starts getting very interesting for Fat Charlie.
Because, you see, Charlie's dad wasn't just any dad. He was Anansi, a trickster god, the spider-god. Anansi is the spirit of rebellion -- he is able to overturn the social order, create wealth out of thin air, and baffle the devil.
Exciting, scary, and deeply funny, Anansi Boys is a kaleidoscope journey deep into myth, a wild adventure, and a fierce and unstoppable farce, as Neil Gaiman shows us where gods come from, and how to survive your family.
My Thoughts: The premise for the book was so unique and interesting. I love Gaiman's writing but this book wasn't one of my favorites. I had trouble caring at all for any of the main characters.

Title: One for the Money
Author: Janet Evanovich
Rating:
Goal: 18/60 (30% Complete)
Pages: 287
Genre: Mystery
About: Welcome to Trenton, New Jersey, home to wiseguys, average Joes, and Stephanie Plum, who sports a big attitude and even bigger money problems (since losing her job as a lingerie buyer for a department store). Stephanie needs cash--fast--but times are tough, and soon she's forced to turn to the last resort of the truly desperate: family.
Stephanie lands a gig at her sleazy cousin Vinnie's bail bonding company. She's got no experience. But that doesn't matter. Neither does the fact that the bail jumper in question is local vice cop Joe Morelli. From the time he first looked up her dress to the time he first got into her pants to the time Steph hit him with her father's Buick, M-o-r-e-l-l-i has spelled t-r-o-u-b-l-e. And now the hot guy is in hot water--wanted for murder.
Abject poverty is a great motivator for learning new skills, but being trained in the school of hard knocks by people like psycho prizefighter Benito Ramirez isn't. Still, if Stephanie can nab Morelli in a week, she'll make a cool ten grand. All she has to do is become an expert bounty hunter overnight--and keep herself from getting killed before she gets her man.
My Thoughts: 100% wonderful. Stephanie is hilarious, witty and lovable. And the team of characters that come with her are just as charming. I'm pretty late to the party reading these books but I hate reading things my mom recommends because it makes her smug.
Title: Definitely Dead
Author: Charlaine Harris
Rating:
Goal: 19/60 (31 2/3% Complete)
Pages: 324
Genre: Urban Fantasy/Horror/Paranormal Romance
About: Spiked with a "frothy fusion of romance, mystery, and fantasy" (Publishers Weekly), this "deliciously fiendish...increasingly riotous series" (Dallas Morning News) sends the supernaturally gifted cocktail waitress to New Orleans, where she has to deal with the legacy of one of her own family and a host of potentially dangerous characters.
My Thoughts: There wasn't really a plot to this book except in the last 50 pages or so. The whole first half of the book felt like it was just a filler for the series or a super long short story from an anthology. I loved the introduction of Amelia the witch though.

My Thoughts: Amy Adams was the real star in this movie, she was phenomenal. Overall the movie was cute and worth seeing but it (other than Adams) wasn't anything special.

You know spies...

"I never run around in the bushes in a ski mask when I’m breaking in some place. Somebody catches you, what are you going to say? You want to look like a legitimate visitor until the very last minute. If you can’t look legit, confused works just as well. Maybe get a soda from the fridge or a yogurt. If you’re caught, you just act confused and apologize like crazy for taking the yogurt; nothing can be more innocent."
